AKB48 – Labrador Retriever

AKB48‘s 36th single Labrador Retriever (ラブラドール・レトリバー)will be released on May 21.

The list of the 36 Senbatsu members for Labrador Retriever has been revealed. The center is Watanabe Mayu.

The covers and the tracklist of each edition have been unveiled.

The coupling track is Oshima Yuko’s graduation song Kyou Made no Melody (今日までのメロディー).

This single includes a voting ticket for the 6th AKB48 Senbatsu General Election 2014.

The first announcements were made on March 29 during AKB48 Haru Con.

4 versions are available. The CD contains 3 songs. The 3rd track is different depending on the edition. They come with a DVD featuring the music video and bonus footage.

The limited editions include a ticket for a handshaking event with the members of the idol group.

Watanabe Mayu × Pokemon

AKB48‘s Watanabe Mayu will be the narrator in Pokemon‘s upcoming short movie Pikachu, What’s this Key for? (ピカチュウ、これなんのカギ？).

The short movie will be screened at the same time as Pokemon XY The Movie : Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction (ポケモン・ザ・ムービーＸＹ「破壊の繭とディアンシー」).

It will be released in theaters on July 19 in Japan.

Watanabe Mayu succeeds to the former AKB48 member Maeda Atsukowho was the narrator of Pokemon film last year.

Furthermore, Nakagawa Shoko will appear in Pokemon XY The Movie : Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction as a guest voice actress. She will be voicing Mirisu Steel.

The theme song is performed by the female Japanese pop rock band Scandal.

Tsukamoto Mariko won the Otona AKB48 audition

It was announced on April 17 that Tsukamoto Mariko won theOtona AKB48 audition.

Otona AKB48 (大人AKB48) is a project made in collaboration between the idol group and Glico.

Tsukamoto Mariko will perform in a TV CM for the Papico 2014 Spring Campaign. She will also participate in concerts and handshake events along with other members of AKB48.

Audition was opened for women over 30 years. They could be married or single, professionnal or amateur. There were 5066 applicants including former Morning Musume member Ichii Sayaka.

Tsukamoto Mariko is 37 years old. She is a housewife and a mother of two.

A short introduction video has been posted by Glico, the company producing Papico.
